Given the amount of commentary on the original forum thread and then for the article, I think this was a simmering issue that finally came to the head. Sure it's not world peace but if I was constantly getting charged more for something that cost exactly the same to produce, I'd be pissed too! That frustration I think is where all the commentary came from.
I'd say given all the comments/fervor this is raising that it's an issue EU gamers are concerned about. I don't think it's a 360 conspiracy though!
Is it going to be as insanely difficult as Demon's Souls was at times? I'm all for tough game play but c'mon!
Great writeup, hope they get the glitches worked out before they have a bunch of frustrated gamers on their hands!
MetaCritic has it chalking up in the mid fifties so I'd say the general consensus is take your money elsewhere...
Nice to see a game that breaks out of the normal categories...
Wow, 4 out of 10, that's some mean stinkage...
Sweet, get me that free headset! I've heard the A* series and they are freakin' awesome...oh yeah, and the new site is pretty sick too ;-)
This game is a zombie game sure but I don't believe it has anything to do with the show on A&E "Walking Dead" that you are complaining (somewhat justifiably, it is poorly written) about.
I did a quick Google search and it didn't show that the game and TV show are related but I've been wrong before...
Oh, and great review!
Well written and thanks for pointing out how campers are engineered for here. I HATE CAMPERS and that alone may make me pass. But then again, picking off campers can be fun... =)
But I would say playing as the Taliban seems to be most likely a marketing move to generate controversy, i.e the infamous chapter in CoD where you shoot passengers in a terminal.
not every game feel it needs to become art. Just like we all enjoy shoot 'em up movies as well as art flicks, let's hope that we have both shoot 'em up games and games that may be art.
I agree, this would be a great pairing up. The thing for me is I'm not a big fan of storylines in games which add to cost and development time. I don't know if I'm part of a silent majority or minority but it seems like video games are for gaming. If I want a story, I'll pay my $12 and go to the theater.
That having been said, just my opinion and clearly the industry loves these types of titles so this pairing up would be great for the market!
Nice to know that Madden will finally have some real competition here. Hopefully some of the things you pointed out will motivate Madden to up their 'game'.
Love it, are you guys going to create more?
C'mon, let's start this whole discussion again! LOL
Seriously, I think 3D and motion are the name of the game this year. It's one area where Sony can start to eat Wii's lunch as well as demonstrate a superiority over the 360. Can't wait to hear more!
Great review, thanks! Now I just have to decide whether or not to put down BFBC2 and get this...decisions, decisions...
Thanks for the review, can't wait to play this one now. I love the fact there's a great tutorial since these games can be hard to figure out at first (or at least for me =)).
Dlacy13g,
I understand what you're saying but having looked at a lot of demos myself, they can be pretty indicative of a game's layout. It may seem counterintuitive to have an in depth review of a demo but I think this is accurate. Since the review is very thorough I feel the "in depth" label is appropriate. But that's just my .02 =).
Yeah, thanks PG for making me feel old for still remembering my first XBox. 10 years (and too many hours on Halo), where did you go? =)
