Square-Enix did this because M$ wrote them a huge fat check. Wada & the other board members of Square-Enix only care about money, not their fan base that has put them in position where they are today. Why do you think Square-Enix has essentially ignored the PS3 this entire generation, and put more games out on the 360 than the PS3? M$ payola.
Bottom line Microsoft is paying Square-Enix to keep games from coming to the PS3.
I guess you have no idea the impact Ico & Sotc had on gaming. Those games where very influential, and critically acclaimed.

It's not doing well, MS is funneling money from their OS & Office profits into their E & D division.

That is why Gates & Balmer don't want to break up the company like Merrill Lynch and their Share Holders have suggested. Because if they did the E&D division would have to swim on it's own, and it would probably sink to the bottom.

The Fire & Smoke was very impressive.

The animation looked smoother, like when Drake took cover and then popped out it looked so fluid.

Air takedown was awesome. The hand to hand is more seamless too.
Price cut at E3 would be the best pr move they could make.

I remember it was the same thing with UC2. "That's not in game!", "Impossible" etc, etc.
Then UC2 came out & crow was served.

My favorite part of the trailer is the black smoke billowing from the crashed plane, that appears to be Sully's plane from UC1.

That smoke looks so good though.
