@Inverno I bet Nintendo was like, yeah let me just rapidly copy-paste this game, implement a whole new physics engine that has even physics modellers a bit stumped (me being one of them), and still release a game that has almost no bugs (which with engines like these, is INSANE).

Actually, I think they did their market research fairly well. Most of the Diablo Fanbase such as streamers and players leaving reviews on public websites clearly state that they do not want to interact with other players too much. A little is fine, but not too much.
This actually makes sense because Diablo is primarily a PVE game, which will attract people that like PVE games. Blizzard acknowledges that turning Diablo into another World of Warcraft is not gonna give them a...
They are really trying to let the playerbase tag along in developing the game, which is why I think they announced it sooner. We can still hope that this will actually avoid another tripple A game releasing with bugs, poorly designed game loops, and no content.
It would be smarter NOT to expect this. Do you really think they will focus on redoing the engine, rather than world building and gameplay? It’s Nintendo. The game will be fun to play, but not much prettier than BOTW
