Sony's knows better than ****. They been around the gaming industries for almost 2 decades. I fricking doubt it.
I dunno about Microsoft, but Sony already achieved the 8 cores processor this gen for cheaper price. It's only the matter of time until Sony release the successor of Cell processor next gen for cheaper price.
AMD APU are based of that of the cell processor with the GPU and CPU on the same chipset. PS3 backward compatibility are still possible. Good choice for Sony.. but it seems next gen looks and sound like a slight upgrade from the this gen. AMD would be the smart and logical choice for Sony. I still believed that the upgraded version of CELL PROCESSOR 2.0 with 16 Cores and RSX 2.0 and 4GB of ram would be really a nice choice for Sony. I know the cost would be expensive but with the release date...
