That's not true. Not many people liked the first PS3 campaigns, with the console in the room with the eggs and baby doll.

It was like the Homer Simpson car...just too big and weird looking. Yet for some reason, it was perfect for Halo!

Arcades as we know them are done. That's it. Arcades offered us the opportunity to play games we couldn't play in our homes. Now we can play those games in our homes. Places like Dave & Busters will probably still exist for the social aspect of gaming, but yeah, don't expect an arcade to pop up next door.
I would say the box art back then is superior to what we have now.
