A lot of games don't seem "fun" to mainstream gamers looking for action - Detroit Become Human , The Last Guardian , Death Stranding , etc.
But fun is something that can provide entertainment , amusement , or enjoyment. Death Stranding will qualify as fun. It just might not be your type of fun.
They don't just need a publisher , but a publisher and a good developer to actually build the game they are designing.
Quantic Dream was already purchased by another company.

Criticism will be a tad harsher than it should be. The game will get 4's , 5's , many 6's , many 7's , and a fair number of 8+ scores. It will be mixed.
I think people expecting 80+ Metacritic are putting too much faith in the media.
Expecting a 70+ makes a lot more sense.
Most previews are positive for most games , they have the kid gloves on and are doing general outlook of the game. But you just shouldn't just pay attention to the positive people , but also the negative ones too. I've seen some stuff from the media (and even PS fans on youtube)

I don't think it will do well critically , but it will sell well and millions will really enjoy it for what it is.
