You can go into third person in DayZ by hitting enter on your numpad which I recommend when your traveling some servers do disable it but most dont. It looks like DayZ with some skill ups and things

Exactly the best thing to do is gamma cheat and raise your gamma up in the video settings. I did a test on my server US 1224 see how long I could live running in elektro with my flashlight turned on was about 5 mins got sniped by an AS50
The flash light works it takes up it pistol slot just have to remove it from your tool belt then press L to turn it. On
