The article only mentions Startropics and King of Fighters '94. Did Nintendo break tradition and only release two VC games today? I haven't fired up the Wii yet today, so I guess I'll find out when I get home from work later.
Tomb Raider to Indiana Jones connection was just to obvious to make?
I've been looking forward to picking this up since I first heard about it when "Attack of the Show" unveiled the World's Largest Arcade Machine. I knew it was coming out early this year, but does anyone have an actual release date?
...for Gamecube is a good buy. I like this series MUCH more than the Smackdown games, but it was largely ignored because, well, it was on the Gamecube. If you remember and loved all the great wrestling games on the N64 (WCW Revenge, WWF Wrestlemania 2000, and WWF No Mercy), then this is the closest you'll probably ever get to replicating that experience.
I was just thinking about checking out this series of games for my new DS I just got for Christmas. Everything I've read about the series has made me want to check it out eventually. I think for $9, I'll take the plunge.
And :( from me, because I thought I was getting a steal for buying Elite Beat Agents for $15 last week. Still a pretty fun game though.
The description says "worth looking out for in the first half of the year." Maybe that's why the weren't mentioned?
Of course, they mentioned Rock Band, which isn't even announced and EA has even denied it is in development. I've said it before and I'll say it again...EA is flushing money down the toilet every month that passes and Rock Band isn't on the Wii. I wonder how many people have looked for that game (on any console) since Conan O'Brien played it on his sh...
...that I read through all the comments and nobody latched on to this gem:
"Microsoft's "mission" this year is for Xbox 360 to be "the console of choice for everyone in the family."
Which just happens to be the mission of that "other" console that seems to be the bane of most everyone's existence here**, no matter if they like 360 or PS3. I would just like to say, as a Wii owner, that if EA would like to port "Playground&...
Seriously. Don't buy another CD. I used to buy about 3-4 CDs a week. I bought 4 CDs all of LAST YEAR. The RIAA filing all these lawsuits is like an old man desperately hanging onto the past; like the makers of VHS tapes suing people for having the audacity of switching to DVDs.
I hope the Radiohead model takes off, although they'll have to actually put a price on the music (name your own price won't work for everyone). If some way could be found for a band to promote itsel...
...that have been listed for Z & W's failure ring of truth. However, I believe the biggest reason is the name of the game itself (which other sites, like IGN, have brought up). Then we have the cover art (ugh). So a potential consumer, knowing nothing about the game since it isn't promoted outside of gaming websites, MIGHT find the game in the store (since a lot of stores put the games in alphabetical order, so this is likely on the bottom shelf) and then see a cartoon 5ish-looking yea...
Not at all. Kind of like the golf club and tennis racket attachments, which someone offered to get me for Christmas. When I asked "why would I want that?" The answer was "because then it would be more like playing tennis."
?????
If I wanted it to be more like playing tennis, I would...go play tennis. Just like if I wanted a skillet in my hand, I'd move away from the TV and get in the kitchen to make an actual omelette.
I wouldn't call a game that lets you conduct a symphony with the Wiimote versus a game that lets you rock out to "Detroit Rock City" by Kiss as direct competition to one another.
Plus I would hope Nintendo wouldn't block the biggest 3rd party publisher from releasing one of the most talked about games of the year on the hottest console on the planet just because they've got an opera music sim on the way in late 2008.
... a Blender magazine article a few months ago highlighting GH3 vs Rock Band, Harmonix says there won't be a Rock Band 2 (at least not anytime soon i.e an annual release). It said that they view Rock Band less as software and more as a platform that they'll continue to support with DLC as opposed to releasing a new game every year.
Of course, this same article has the "absolutely" quote from the Harmonix rep about Rock Band on Wii. I definitely think its a missed o...
edit: sorry, double post. N4G timed out posting the comment, so I assumed that it didn't post.
Do you post this comment in every thread now? Reporting as OFF TOPIC.
Dewy's Adventure has gotten some decent reviews, however, unlike Z & W, it seems pretty much impossible to overcome the fact that it looks like a cartoon aimed at toddlers.
But I give them just the smallest amount of credit for not putting in a title like Anabus 2, Cruisin', or Escape from Bug Island.
When people use a Metacritic score as a reason that "this game rocks/sucks," I encourage everyone to visit the site itself and see the individual scores for themselves. I've seen people claim a game is horrible based solely on the Metacritic average, yet I go there and see that the lowest score is 15-20 points lower than the next lowest. Of course, this also works in reverse, with games getting high averages only for the highest score to be significantly higher than the 2nd highes...
Could someone please tell me how we'll know the Wii is finally "falling off?" Does it come when massive amounts of people are trading in their Wii's to Gamestop for another console? Or will all the fanboys be declaring the Wii dead when Best Buy or Target can actually keep one or two in stock for more than a couple days? Just curious.
Oh, and to Outspoken above...I bought 16 games this year, which is more than the "one to five" of a "casual," bu...
Positive feedback left for being one of the few non-"my console is better than your console" posts on this page.
I'm really hoping they don't f*ck up the TNA Impact game. I'd love to play a good wrestling game again. Please come back, Aki N64 engine!
I'd call the PS3 and the 360 evolutions, as graphics, power, story, sound, etc etc have all drastically improved, yet the way we play the games have (for the most part) stayed exactly the same. I think the Wii is the revolution because the most dramatic change isn't in the horsepower inside the console, which is only a slight improvement, but in the way the player actually plays the game. With the Wii, Nintendo is trying to change the way we've been playing video games for the past 30 years...
