if we consider the history of gimmiks on consoles yes it is doomed, but all depends how gimmicky Sony are going to make Morpheus.
As i said some days ago, i am not buying it even if it's an amazing tech if games and heavy support don't follow.
i really have doubts on how they're gonna support a VR headset because they need to sell tons of it in order to make it attractive so 3rd parties start making games for it because it is an extra dev kit required for it.
well it's not like they are having a chance to conquer Japan this time around.
Japanese gaming industry is at its weakest, they're not gonna hold a TGS keynote with no games.
I think it's a good move from them so they focus resources on other territories.

if they wanna match PS2 they should match it in terms of game offering (not sales) cause for us gamers we buy a console to play games.

Xbox has good game, no one can deny it! Turns to preferences in the end but what i like with PS is that variety in the offerings.
New IPs coming in the end cycle of a console is a pretty big deal to many gamers.
PlayStation legacy, power, gamers first and mostly expectations are what is selling and Sony know it. Games and social network is what makes it an easy sell, just look at Japan where PS4 is in a tough situation.
now they should keep delivering in the west and supporting the console in major events..

Sony never owned these franchises, they were exclusive to PSone but published by Universal Studios at that time which was working closely with Sony.
Naughty Dog and Insomniac were parts of these Universal Studios and they decided to get bags of cash by selling them to Activision scum bags.
it is a pity to see these franchises disappear. Sony has been promising and asking us about the franchises we want to see return and nothing happened since.

the reason for watch dogs is that all media has been overhyping it for no reason. this is what happens when a game is overhyped with no passion, just to attract the crowd.
WD never interested me, not even at its first reveal some years ago, i know it would end up being a nice looking shell with nothing inside.
