to me a winner is the console i spend most of my time playing. Right now it's still PS3, and Wii U follows. It's not about sales, it's enjoyment. this is nothing objective i will agree with you on it.
Dreamcast won the hearts of millions of gamers and many still prefer it to PS2. I spent some memorable moments playing on it and that beast delivered in games every single month.

PE is one of my most beloved franchises ever. PE1 and PE2 are kick ass games. Knowing SE i dont think it's that. it's just too good to be true.
what are you talking about? just check Nintendo consoles history and you'll realize that it have never been about those 3rd party games. If you buy Nintendo console it's primarily for 1st party games.

and i disagree with Wind Waker, it didnt improve anything. Triforce quest is just as boring. the game might have been improved technically but not worth buying if you played Gamecube version.

what makes a console successful is a mix between price and games, but games are biggest reason here. Nintendo never lost a handheld war due to the amazing number of games they release on it..
Vita has been introduced as a PS3 type of experience in your hands. Dual Stick was a big deal and AAAs like Uncharted WipEout and Killzone really caught people's attention. It also allows some very unique casual experiences due to the cameras and read touch pad.
