because developing a console primarily for a non established and unproven tech is a bad idea.
It is not VR performance that is stopping people from embracing it. it is just a gimmick and no matter how good they manage to run it it will still be a gimmick and the last few months are a proof enough that VR doesn't come first (nor second or third).
they want the console to be the best in everything (vr, resolution, fps...) but i am afraid the VR part won't be of importa...
one of the reasons they are making this console is VR.. X1 cannot handle VR device and they wanted their market share.
4K is still at its early stages and by next gen i think (hope) 4K becomes standard.
I know they became complexed from the display war between PS4 and x1 that they want to build a console that handles high resolution/fps without much trouble, but VR is a bigger reason imo.
We don't hear much VR related anymore. This thing has been hyped so much that it didn't give the right effect i am afraid. I am really not sure VR will pick up.

I just hope it comes sooner than later.
PS4 is a monster.
Attach rate is crazy and the games coming up this year are going to boost the sales volume, in case that didn't happen already.

not sure Horizon will sell a lot of PS4. Uncharted 4 and FFXV took care of that already. It is a new IP and people already owning PS4 are the ones that will get it, for the most part.

as long as they don't sell it to acti i'm fine with letting it rest.. but i don't think so.
Uncharted is a money printing machine it will be back at some point.. already 2017 with the DLC.
I hope ND try something new though before they go back to Unchated eventually..
