I dont ever see DD becoming the norm for movies - at least not for a decade or so. And anyone who buys into it, ought to be shot. Too much control over how we watch movies can be used this way. the problem that arises with having 2 formats no matter which one you prefer is this - it stays a niche market with the masses afraid to take the plunge to either side, and the longer the war is prolonged, the better chance there becomes for both to fail - and let inferior garbage like downloads take over.

this is old news - they were releasing new titles on HD DVD 3 weeks after the Blu release, but are now saying they are releasing catalog titles 3 weeks later also. This just means that the Last Blu release in May will come out 3 weeks later in June on HD DVD - it doesnt mean that Blu titles released in June will also come out on HD DVD. So, whatever the last title is released on Blu in May, will come out on HD Dead 3 weeks later - THATS ALL! In reality its not an extension what so ever.

And yes Paramounted and Universal will both be making Blu Rays by the end of the year, maybe by Summer - Paramount will by Summer for sure. Dont believe me? Just watch. Downloaded movies suck compared to disk for one. Plus I like the idea that on disk I can take it wherever I want without any hassle, and if my computer crashes on my hard drive on PS3 or whatever, I wont lose ALL my movies. Plus it could turn into that turd of an idea that Circuit City invented, DIVX, that luckily died quickly - where you pay to download a movie and can watch it a few times for that price, and then after have to pay a small fee to watch it every time after.
