Good question. I think the 90's was the golden age of gaming. Budgets weren't bloated, gamers weren't so sour and ready to complain about everything, arcades were still rocking, Sega vs Nintendo, all good stuff and fun times!

Great article! For those that gamed actively in the 90's, this will definitely hit home with them. How very much I miss the cartridges, box art, thick colorful manuals and of course couch co-op. Goldeneye pretty much started it all for the multiplayer FPS scene, as Mario 64 opened players up to the first truly immersive 3D gaming world which was one of the biggest game changers in history.

I'm with you in hopes VR and Hololens make that next true jump for gaming (a...

Let's hope RE7 returns to this formula of survival horror. With the successfully RE1 remaster and a new RE2 on the way, maybe Capcom is finally seeing the light and bringing this series back to its roots and where it belongs. Slow pacing, suspenseful, tension filled, frightened at all times...that to me is what Resident Evil should be and what made the first one so successful.

It's pretty simple to sum this game up. If you are a huge Star Wars fan, you will enjoy the fantastic visuals, sounds and authentic SW experience.

For the negatives, it lacks in maps and features and the season pass is by far the biggest slap in the face to gamers. EA once again got greedy and they aren't even remotely trying to hide that fact.

So, if you LOVE Star Wars, pick it up. You'll have fun and get plenty of hours of enjoyment out ...

Release this and you are golden Nintendo! 2016 is your year, take it! This is the time to completely revolutionize your company, games, online infrastructure and marketing strategy. Kick it off by naming the console the Nintendo Revolution =)

First and 3rd party exclusive games at launch: New Zelda, Super Mario Universe, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Contra, Castlevania, Wave Racer II, Turok Revolution, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters II, Metroid and Mega-man. ...

We are all guessing at this point but I'm leaning the other way. I bet many devs have already has these kits but it's just now getting around of their existence.

Nintendo has been working hard on games for the NX without a doubt now for some time. That means a 2016 holiday release is without a doubt a possibility. This would give 3rd party devs a year or more to port over their work if the system architecture is X86 (which surely Nintendo will adopt after their f...

I agree, the DC controller was fantastic. I'd argue even the original Xbox controller that made this list, while large and in charge, was a great controller overall. Halo played fantastic with the Duke. The Xbox One gamepad, which is one of the best out there now, is ultimately an evolved DC controller.

I've gotten this on numerous articles today. I eventually had to turn off the security setting that blocks certain sites if deemed suspicious by Firefox. Way too many random sites being blocked on N4G to be legit. Probably something that needs to be updated on Firefox's side.

Not sure it will get the funding needed, but I would definitely support it if it came out and it had a healthy catalog of games! Would love to put in a game cartridge again =)

Duke was a game changer for sure. It's too bad his latest venture was such a train wreck due to numerous delays and personnel changes during development. The days of LAN parties, co-op couch gaming and physical gaming media all face the threat of extinction as we advance down the road and the technology and features evolve. Some of the funnest gaming I've ever had was using the Link cable hub kit for the original Xbox and playing Halo with friends (multiplayer and coop campaign). ...

Delays are always disappointing, but from all the negative press at the reveal, this was no doubt warranted. I've always been lucky enough to game on all systems (Game consoles to PC) and being a Wii U owner, I of course hated to hear that first no Zelda this year and now Star Fox has been delayed. Luckily between all three systems and the PC, there are a dizzying amount of titles to choose from.

2016 looks to be the swan song for the Wii U and at least it will go out...

Sounds like a unique and refreshing experience. This one slipped under the radar, haven't seen much on this title. I hope these good reviews get it some excellent exposure.

Nice write up Tom! My PS1 was chipped at that time, so I could play games from over seas. I still remember to this day walking into our local game shop and asking what the new releases were. They brought up MGS and told me it was doing phenomenal in Japan. I put my money down for it and was counting down the days to pick it up. I was hooked from the first opening scene and to this day, it's one of my favorite series.

I remember being especially proud that I beat i...

"playing games such as the original Super Mario Bros for the SNES". That would be on the NES, I believe you are thinking about Super Mario World =)

Unfortunately Nintendo needs a lot more than just current third party ports. They have to restore faith on many fronts. They can't keep up development wise, their marketing efforts are a complete joke and they are beyond confused in regards to what fans want versus what they choose to give us.

I'm hoping whatever NX ends up being addresses all these critical flaws and that Nintendo and its fans are in a better place sooner than later.

It needs to be optimized for sure. That's one of its biggest faults right now, but it's early access so that's to be expected. Lots of potential though! Full game doesn't launch for a year, so they have a lot of time to polish and fine tune things.
