If the japanese want to play games other than ps3 or wii they'll do it on a pc. they dont need xbox, to them its redundant and retarded.
The examples you give make me believe that MS had/has an inferiority complex. In essence if the race had started with all things equal sony would have essentially won, because they hog all the resources.
How flippin sick would it be if you could take a character from your saved game and walk around @ home. Totally sick. Imagine even a little combat @ home.

I think sony is bringing back the EE chip in something with a bigger HDD, also they will be dumping six axis for dual shock 3 in the deal.
It makes sense, the 60 gig ran to hot and needs a bigger HDD, the 80 gig was NOT fully BC and both need the 65nm chip.
And with this convergence in the force it would clearly and certainly bring forth and restore balance. It has been foretold.

I'm taking my 50 bucks and buying a game. I wait for the movie to come out on the blu. Buying a add-on drive and HD-DVD movies is kind like buying an old xbox, its pretty much obsolete even though there are games available. Just a little side note, I can see everyone running out and buying an HD add-on, I wonder what percentage of those will have wasted their money when their 360 RRoD's. I'm not waisting 50 bones.

If you want to lay blame, then blame microsoft, there the ones who put these companies in this position by not integrating HD into the 360. If they had HD wouldn't be dead in the water. You can't blame Gamestop, they're simply responding to the industry, sh*t rolls down hill. Try returning your HD-DVD players to MS and see what happens.

I would have to agree. I blame the whole demise of HD-DVD on MS. I posted yesterday on this site that if MS had integrated HD into the 360, it would have forced people to choose, but HD would not be dead. I always believed this was inevitable because of this one bad decision MS made. Having said that, I do love the blu and my PS3.
I'm thinking about selling my elite. I will never buy into that download crap from microsoft. I like my 360, I just don't like the direction microsoft is going, If I can't have a hardcopy of anything I buy, I'm not buying it.
I'm glad it's done. I'm very happy to see blu win this thing. Imho, this wouldn't have happen to HD-DVD if microsoft would have integrated the HD-DVD player into the the 360. It may have forced it onto the buyer but HD wouldn't be dead either. MS really let toshiba down.
However, with games like Gears of War and Lost Planet, These games demostrate 360's ability. Unfortunately it's also the plateau. In a year these two games along with the soon to be released title Mass Effect has and will demonstrate that the 360 has already peaked in its performance. The games wont get much better than they are right now simply because the 360 is limited by own tech specs.
PS3 hasn't even gotten started and already the games look ALMOST as good as the 360...
I bought a launch 60, I still play my ps2 games on my ps3 simply cuz, its looks better, sounds better and now it even rumbles better. I play Baldurs Gate I and II, Champions of Norrath I and II, brotherhood of Steel, destroy all humans I and II, the ps2 Star Wars Legos looks amazing. The backwards compatibility significantly enhances the looks and sounds of the ps2 games. If for that reason alone their should always be b/c on the ps3, not to mention you spend all that money on the console ...
