I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this was just one big PR move. Sony fans hate Gabe, Gabe knows this, Gabe needs way to regain Sony audience, Gabe makes nice with Sony fans.
And I swear if anyone says "oh I guess Gabes ok now" Im gonna cringe. I can dig up thousands of fanboy comments and articles bashing Gabe for all the crap he said about the PS3.
I think we all know the nagging feeling in the back of our heads: Is this PR spin, or are they gauging peoples reactions? It almost seems like they "leak" this info early so they can see how people respond and then adjust accordingly. It's almost like a stealth survey.

Why now? Xbox owners are proud of their lineup this year, and PS3 owners used lists all year last year. They tried one at the beginning of this year, until MAG and WKC took a turn for the worse. Now the list is dwindling.
He probably doesnt like it because its not Nolan North's voice like every other video game.

As of right now, there isnt a PC release. Supposedly its up to MS to decide it. So for now, its an exclusive.

How about other exclusives, like UC2? Why hasnt 32 million people bought it? How about MAG? Didnt even make the top 10. But thats probably because of the PS3 shortages. Funny how that news only arose after the NPD numbers were released.

This game could have been great, if they would have put some effort into it. But alas, its just a gimmick. They should have called it GAG (Generic Action Game).
The reason this game even got a couple decent reviews is because they were fly by night PS3 fanboy sites that no one has ever heard of. But the reputable sites have been giving it average reviews.

While I do feel MW2 deserves to make the top 10, I really don't feel it deserved the #1 spot. I felt more immersed with games such as Uncharted 2 and Batman: AA than I did with MW2. Yes, it's a good game with a great selection of multiplayer components, but we all knew that it was going to have those things because the game comes out once a year. And DJ Hero at #3??? I mean come on! Killzone 2 didnt even make that list.
I guess this is why we don't read TIME for gaming advice and...

Savvy gaming blogs tend to bash the Wii. I believe they think it's humorous and also think that hardcore gamers will give them more credit for doing so. The Joystiq community loathes the Wii.
