This is typical Nintendo double speak. The Wii U has already been maxed out, it can barely handle PS3/360 ports so forget about it keeping up with the more ambitious PS4/One multiplatform games. They're just saying this so they won't have to backtrack much when they pull a 3DS and announce a "New" Wii U with a 50% specs increase.

Exactly. I haven't been to a Gamestop in almost 3 years despite there being one 3 blocks away from my apt and another one within a block of my college.
I had a feeling this wasn't going to meet the hype based on the beta. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the beta, but I couldn't see myself playing the game for more than a week or two which is not worth the $60 price.
Nintendo doesn't need anything. According to their fanbase, Nintendo is god and only Nintendo games matter.

That didn't stop them from removing the Ape Escape mini game from MGS 3:Sub in the HD collection. The easter eggs wouldn't stop MGS 4 from showing up on a non sony system. They'll either be removed or if Kojima cares enough, they would scrap the old easter eggs and make new ones for each version.
+1 fan though it has to be on either Sony or MS's HOME consoles.

Not to defend the XOne but Japan hasn't been a major market in almost a decade now. Console and PC gaming is dead over there. If it aint on mobile or those garbage handhelds then it's pretty much irrelevant to them.

Nintendo doesn't even have a proper account system that ties your games and content to the account instead of just the system they're on. So how can they be doing it right if the user loses ownership if anything happens to their system or they buy a new one?
