Although not released this year my favourite game this year has easily been enter the gungeon. I've never really been into roguelike games but after buying this earlier in the year I'm hooked. Haven't played a game in years that keeps bringing me back in for one more go. Opened the door to dead cells too which is also am excellent game

Advancements for the wrong reason = microtransactions and loot boxes. Paying full price for a game only to find it littered with pay to win microtransactions and loot boxes where you have no idea of the prize has become a joke. All games should be free if a company wants to rape us with microtransactions
Rise of the robots. Myself and two friends had made it the final of the tv show Gamesmaster (series 3 - team championship. Dexter Fletcher presenting). My teammate was supposed to play vortex on the snes but it was such an early that the chipset had broken. A ridiculously early build of Rise of the robots was used. The controls and input response were shocking. Moves didnt work, it was cumbersome and all round awful. The game had no redeeming features and the release version was no better. H...
Secret of mana on the Snes. So much love for this game. Many a weekend spent playing this co-op with 2 friends. Replayed with younger brother when he was about 8 and he loved it too.
