Well apparently it's not that much more reliable than the original. Its aesthetics are really good, but you can't judge a book by its cover. It definitely has its strong points and advantages over the former model, but the reliability issues still linger and that is, to me, the most important aspect of a console. Basically, it's not a big step backward, rather like what you said, a small step forward. Better looks, same problem.
The only reason why this sounds like a really sweet deal is because they're actually including the built in wifi and a bigger HDD which they should have done ages ago. They only improved the system's aesthetics and completely ignored the more important ones.
You can take this the wrong way but Sony is just saying 3D isn't good with handhelds. Now if they do release a PSP with 3D then they're being hypocritical like what they did with PS Move, but we'll see. I personally can't imagine how the 3D can be realized without glasses, so I'll have to see how the 3DS performs.
don't really care if it's on 360. MMOs are usually better on PC so if I can run it then I'm getting the PC version
They wanted to wait for Sony's price so they can match it with a price that can outsell PS Move. Pretty smart and sly if you ask me.

Raiden was a cyborg ninja in MGS4. When the game was announced his face was shown so it was pretty obvious to people who played MGS4 that Rising would fill the gap between 2 and 4. It could possibly include how Raiden became a cyborg ninja.
