I'm having a blast with the MP and I haven't even touched the SP yet. At first, the controls feel a bit clunky but after a day, they start to feel just right.

Shotguns don't dominate CQ at all. SMGs and Carbines are the way to go.
Just re-download Close Quarters and you should be all good. Worked for me today.

The patch is working wonders for me although I have had a few hard resets. I'm not going to complain, post patch BF3 is finally living up to its potential.
