When you have an IP worth millions you do what you can to protect it. You also expect companies you do business with to ask for permission before using your name for promotional purposes. Especially for a competing product.

That quote is in regards to the fact that Epic is using PUBG in their promotional content to help sell their product. Nothing to do with the similarities between the games.
