The game may be good (NT is a good developer) but the fact that the DMC fanbase feel betrayed (for changing many things including the whole personality of the main character) is what it will make the game fail (at least with DMC fans).
While I agree that the game doesn't look bad, I think that the hate comes from not looking anything like Devil May Cry, they should've named it something else and leave it as what it is just a DMC clone.

Those are no-names for the general public (even mainstream gamers), there is no way those names can compete with the marketing muscle from Sony and the GT brand and Microsoft with Forza.
Even if it is not a real MGS?, I mean it isn't even made by KP don't get me wrong, I will probably buy it and I hope it is good since it is being made by PG, but I don't think it will even resemble past MGs, we can even see this in the direction of the trailer way too flashy and "Michael Bay-esque".
Gameplay is important but it is not the only thing that counts, not when you are a fan of the series.
