You gotta remember at the end of the PS3 generation everyone was sick of military shooters. Anything that wasn't bursting with colour was labeled "generic" and considered a CoD copy.
It's kinda the other way around now, with games like Overwatch, Fortnite, Far Cry New Dawn and Rage 2, you'd be hard pressed to find an old school shooter with a gritty aesthetic like Killzone
Plus is trash at the moment, for the first time in like 7 years or so I've just let it expire. I hate that paid online is the norm now
But the Witcher 3 had two paid expansions 🤔
Lol here's a comment I posted on the last vgculturehq article 😂
"knew what website this was as soon as I read the title.
Last time it was "2017 is the year of Nintendo" and "Nintendo has won 2017".
I wonder who will win 2019... 🙄"
This piece is terrible, reads like a compilation of tired old YouTube comments from 2012
"but in the end we will end up with way more content than your average 60 dollar game normally provides"
Really? Has any GAAS game actually delivered and ended up as a complete product that rivals a normal game in terms of quality and quantity?
Realism isn't generic. Hence why people lost their minds when Twilight Princess was announced, and then again when they showed that Wii U Zelda tech demo with the spider (which turned out to be complete BS btw)
I'm loving this game at the moment and I really didn't think I would. A free-to-play Battle Royale game released with no hype by EA? Had all the signs of a cynical cash grab chasing a trend but its actually really fun
I'll stick to 3v3. You can tell the characters abilities we're balanced with a squad of three in mind, more fun this way
I love Bloodhound's character design 😎
@BizarroUltraman
Calm down lol
This was a pretty cool read
"Sooo Smash Bros sold double that when the system had about a million fewer systems than PS4 at the time"
And why does that matter? Its not like Square Enix are going to be disappointed with 600,000+ at launch.
Handhelds have been more popular in Japan for years, but consoles have been continously successful, and that's all that matters. See Monster Hunter World, Dragon Quest IX, Persona 5, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid 5, Yakuza ect
"traditional consoles and PC are pretty much dead"
Kingdom Hearts 3 just sold 600,000 copies sooo...
Tetris?
I'm playing Legend of dragoon now. It's cool, despite some dodgy translation every now and then it holds up well. If you're gonna take inspiration for a JRPG no reason to not take it from Final Fantasy at its prime.
It's Trails of Cold Steel. They're pretty good JRPG's. Same developers as the Ys franchise
"The credit goes to Phil Spencer and his team at Microsoft. They made it happen, so yes, it was simple for us" - Gabe
Very misleading title. But you got my click, so well done I guess
