I think the over the top violence makes the most sense with the style of the game. every other aspect is made to be on the borderline of absurd and at several points the game makes fun of itself and games like it by overdoing jokes or overemphasizing something (like the insane amount of blood)
and lets face it, its a game about an assassin (or wanna be assassin anyway) NO blood seems very odd.
but I'm glad they have the other version, I would rather people play ...

I agree that a few of the characters from melee coulda went like roy (ike replacement). But I don't follow why they got rid of a character like Mewtew who had his own move set, and instead we now have 2 fox clones. I honestly didnt think we were gonna see falco in this one at first.

my opinion is they had last minute glitches and didnt want to push it back, so they made their fixes but didnt give themselves enough time to make all the discs. So now they are shipping as they print em and will quickly catch up

Man did that make me want this game so bad, the intro looked mostly like parts of the cutscenes for the Subspace Emessary, which is looking more and more like an awsome game by itself, let alone all the other stuff

To me it sounds like they couldnt do exactly the same thing technology-wise with the wii. So instead of copping out and making it a crappy port, they changed the game's story, added a few levels, and made a version that works great on the wii.
the PS3/360 gets the better graphics and physics
the wii gets its motion and an expanded divergent story.

At first I was kinda annoyed that they are using SSB as a way to get people to by more VC games, but then I kinda realized that offering a free demo of any game is a good thing.
I really hope nintendo continues this trend, no so much as putting the demos with other games as just offering demos for VC games. I would love to be able to preview a few VC games for a few minutes for free. There are alot out there I know NOTHING about but if I tried them I would probably buy a few ...
Look, the manual to a game is very important ok? When you go out to the mall with your wife and you get your game, sometimes opening it up and looking through the manual is the only thing that keeps you sane while you are stuck sitting there while she tries on new outfits!!

I agree in that I think this is a fake, but I was under the impression that zero suit Samus was analagous to the whole Zelda / Sheik thing. So that Samus can end up as zero suit but not as a completely different and selectable character.

Yes but back in the NES days there was also no gameFAQs.com or the like. When you got stuck it was up to you and your close friends to spend hours and figure it out. Now everyone just goes online and speeds through the game.

Does that rule out Ness as unlockable, probably not. And maybe its just me but I kinda just assumed Jigglypuff was gonna be around, its probably the first unlock again. Same with Luigi, I'm just assuming he is gonna be an unlockable too.
I would love to see this, and it could definitly be a cash cow for Nintendo, but I am hesitant to believe it.
Nintento has been dragging its feet on the online issue for such a long time and there have been so many rumors for online features for the wii that never happened that I refuse to believe any Nintendo/online rumors until I start seeing some come true.
