I still wish they added multiplayer to 3DS version though (without having to deal with buying and then connecting it to a Wii U and then playing it online that way I mean). Still, can't wait to buy a 3DS just for this and sink hundreds of hours into it.

Except for the underwater camera, the touch screen's simulated d-pad camera control works fine and you always have the option to buy Circle Pad Pro for 20 dollars if you just want a second stick. And Monster Hunter games never been about graphics but massive amounts content.

Online play over PSN was free from the get go while it's still paid on Live, along with access to some certain apps. Every time I think of Aliens: Colonial Marines, I can't stop thinking about how Sega could've put that money towards research to prevent permanent catatonic state that most players might fell into after playing the game for more than 10 minutes.

PSP and PS3 already has Portable 3rd (and you have the option to play the fan translated version on PSP if you don't know Japanese). You really don't need a different iteration of the same game. If you really want a Monster Hunter game on Vita, then go for MH 4.
On topic; I'm currently playing Monster Hunter Tri on Dolphin emulator and having a blast. It looks like I'll finally be getting a 3DS just to be able to play Ultimate.
