Mass Effect will be Clint Mansell's first ever video game project not to mention it'll also be his first true sci-fi project. Don't tell me that Moon was a sci-fi movie because it wasn't. Not something that heavily built on the genre at least. I just hope that he doesn't screw it up.
Since EA bought them, Bioware did some pretty retarded things. And now, they just jumped to the; "let's hire an award winning movie composer" fad. Jack Wall and Sam Hulick were the people who made Mass Effect, well... Mass Effect. Replacing them is like replacing Martin O'Donnell for a new Halo game or replacing Harry Gregson-Williams for a new Metal Gear Solid game.

Just install your games to the HDD before playing (especially if you're going to play for like 6-7 hours) and problem solved. That damned DVD drive is the thing that creates way too much heat and since it's very close to the GPU (which is cooled by a passive heatsink), it obviously starts being a burden to the cooling system.
