I doubt that.. given the fanbase that is almost as big as Final Fantasy, and take note, Microsoft will be marketing this thing like no other in Japan. I really doubt it that much.
Sony will, they will make Sackboy dolls and other goodies from LBP to increase more sales. I think marketing is a great thing, it's just some fanboys can't accept that one company can't do something before other does because of brand loyalty, or jealously either way. I'll be buying games from both sides of the "console war" and enjoying them regardless of them being 360 or PS3 games.

Exactly, a lot of people actually do it within the gaming companies. Pokemon, Metal Gear, I can name a lot of franchises that market this type of stuff. Hell, even the movie business does it. People act like this is the first time it's been done.
Add Metal Gear to that list, and Pokemon too.

Any real update will happen with 2.45 or 2.50, which could just be Home and other extra goodies from Sony. A lucky guess. So this update is just for Japan, unimportant to me.
As I said, no one forced Rockstar to even make a 360 verison, they took the money that Microsoft gave them and then, when it didn't sell too well as hoped they stated to say something about it. If Rockstar were to keep GTA4 as an Exclusive PS3 game, then they could do what they planned maybe more. But no, it's their fault for being babies.
jmare, how long have you been a member here? I remember there being a article that was submitted no more than a few months ago, chopped to hell by the poster to make it seem like a bigger issue, he actually did state the texture issue for being the only difference. Look it up, and don't just read what is posted on here. It's from the source, yes, he did say the 360 wasn't as powerful as the PS3 but he also stated within that same article that the 360 and PS3 won't have much difference.
Cajun Chicken learn about what it is you are discussing. Rockstar knew fully well what the 360 could do before taking the offer to make a 360 version, and yet Microsoft is seen as the ones that forced them to take the money. Rockstar are only complaining after GTA wasn't received well by everyone and everyone has moved on with another game. It's Rockstar not Microsoft's problem. Fanboy.
It isn't needed really, unless games start on PC for the format become standard, sure it is really nice add on for extra data. But developers will find ways to make room without really gimping the disc. He already stated that the only real difference between the two were texture beyond where the player is suppose to go. This crap is getting old.
I've been waiting for this moment for awhile, I will buy KOFXII for the 360, and Samurai Showdown for the PS3. Now if only Rare would bring the Killer Instinct series back then I would feel really pleased.
That won't stop Microsoft from wanting to keep in the console business. Unless there were no Microsoft in 2010 or whatever, until that happens you can expect a next XBOX branded system.

But games do, which Microsoft hasn't had really good games there. It could be different with the line up. It'll sell for awhile with Fable, maybe Banjo. But yeah, it'll get slow results not the impact factor they would like, however, it'll be enough to keep them happy.
I agree, the 720 is really dumb and won't be an official name for the next system from Microsoft. I would believe that would be something like XBOX Nex, XBOX Beyond, it'll more than liking be a sub-name that doesn't have a number to it. Nintendo were honored by the Rare avatars on the 360, Nintendo and Microsoft have been on an good relationship for awhile. Don't go playing as if they are titans that are fighting everyone with lawsuits. They have may respect for other companies than that.
