But this could be BC. They simply don't allow it. This is no different than what MS is doing. These are both emulators running past games that use current gen features and improve performance of the titles.
The difference is the business model that Sony and MS have. Im sure MS could have made people buy the games again but didn't do that.
How hard would it be to let those who at least have the PS3 version of the game to get the game for free, or even ...
I think it needs a Wii Sports. A game bundled in that is super fun and shows what it can do. It is a new platform and likely to be expensive so this also doubles as a way for gamers to buy PS VR and be guaranteed a game with it as well.
My two cents at least.
My gripe with the show isn't necessarily the games but the presentation. It was paced weird and had some cringe worthy moments such as sections of VR, the Call of Duty and Battlefront part, and abruptly ending the show on a third party MOBA.
The content I enjoyed for the most part. Excited for games like Uncharted, SFV, Ace Combat 7, Paragon, etc.
Besides Trophies? Nope. Unless you think that warrants having to buy games all over again, which is silly and really anti consumer.
Not it isn't lol. No assets are touched. All they do is use an emulator to slightly improve the game quality so it doesn't look bad when stretched to 1080p and add trophies.
This is nothing close to a remaster. If that is the case MS also improves the quality of their games to reduce tearimg and add V Sync so they should be considered semi remastered as well. Except that would be silly.
Only because Sony wants you to repay for it if you own it. There is nothing different about it. Both of these are emulators that improve the quality of the game and use next gen features of the consoles.
The difference is Sony is charging people who already bought the game and MS is allowing those who own it to have it. The difference is the business model. The only thing that is added is trophy support to the games and thats it.
If that's really the cas...
Sure if these PS2 games were actually remastered. Which they are not. They are emulated PS2 games that run slightly better on the PS4 through a VM. Same thing MS does.
Only difference is the business model chosen to go about this. This easily could have been BC but then Sony doesn't make as much money on people who would pay again.
It isn't BC simply because of a business decision though. It works the same way Xbox does their BC by emulation. They could have allowed those who purchased the PS3 version of the game to automatically have the game or even for a discount like Virtual Console.
A white character from a comic/book is race swapped into a black character...no one is supposed to bat an eyelid. We should accept it.
Bullshit. People are freaking out that Bond may be black. Don't pull that crap.
This just simply happens to all races.
Why are you bringing up MS and Nintendo? We are simply judging this by its own merits. No need to go all fanboy on us.
Voicing our opinion on a conference doesn't make us entitled... That is a really silly statement to make. We have just as much of a say being disappointed as others will have being excited. This is a gaming forum site in which we all voice different opinions.
I don't see how that makes someone entitled...
Of course it matters. Most of us love Playstation because Sony has great first party games. How can you have a PlayStation centric conference and not show one new first party game? And how in the hell, do you end on a MOBA from Epic?
Weak showing by Sony. You can of course disagree and think it was good but in my opinion this wasn't well done.
My question is that how can you not show any new first party games at a PlayStation conference. Especially when we have multiple studios who have been dormant for years. My bad, they shows MLB The Show...
Come on Sony.
This conference was bad for VR. This conference all together is getting slaughtered by the internet right now.
VR on stage just looks weird and doesn't convince well enough.
Of course they are. I really hope they are out in 2019 though. Not looking forward to a long generation with this type of hardware.
By 2019 we will be looking at some really nice GPUs with HMB 2 memory which is a massive jump from that we are seeing now and it will be on a smaller die. The biggest thing they need to fix is CPU though. If they use AMD again Zen should be enough to give a big boost.
Here's hoping.
Brave isn't the word I would use but still dope that they waited so long to enter.
The price of $14.99 USD seems steep. I think that a max of 10 would suffice if we are going by Virtual Console prices.
Also they should discount those games for those who already bought them on PS3. That's just simple fan service and the best thing to do.
That doesn't say anything about PS1 games coming to the PS4 like my comment said but thanks for the added information.
The article was about if this particular website counts as journalism. I know people on this site don't actually read articles but just fyi.
Comparing PS VR to those type pf luxary goods are silly. Those have crazy price margins and it doesn't need to sell many to be super profitable.
PS VR is going to be sold at a lost Day 1.
