Nice! More console games should have this option to cap the framerate.
Agreed!
"damm, the shit leaked, so yeah, it is real"
Can't wait for it. Never played 2033, so even with Last Light on PS Plus I was waiting for a next-gen version of both. Day one for me.
I know, but he is one with a nice record of being correct. That's why I expect a bit more from him (more than something from Thuway for example).
I thought that DemonNite would have more concrete things to say...
It's time indeed. Time for online rentals too.
That's about it. Very realistic :p
For me it would take around 3.5, but Joel is badass :p
Judder because fps variation can ruin the game. But a nice, racing-standard locked 60fps is obviouslty better than 30fps.
Not that I care much though. I also prefer capped at 30 fps than unlocked aroung 40-60.
Edit: TLOU only need a bumb of image quality and locked fps. Remove the aliasing and lock it at 30 fps and it's done.
PS2 had lots of third party exclusives. Media Molecule, Sucker Punch, Guerrilla Games and Evolution are all relatively recent acquisitions. I think all of them except GG were during PS3 era. GG was in the very late life of PS2.
PS3 not selling: invest in games and studios to catch up with MS.
PS4 outselling Xbox: cut the fat, invest less in games, make marketing deals because they are cheaper. People will get multiplat on PS4 anyway because of the better hardware. That's it. Hope to be wrong though.
"The Last of Us"
That's the meaning of the game title, huh... (saw this on GAF)
Wii, WiiU, Kinetic, Move, 3D
Sure, VR is going the same path.
Being a enthusiast, I will be there at launch, but I know it will have short live.
My theory is worse.
PS4 is doing well. So Sony does not need to spend a lot on games. Leave just the most popular franchises/devs and call the exclusive DLCs/Marketing deals: Watch Dogs, AC, Thief, Destiny...
I guess I prefer Sony trying to catch up with MS...
So you are completly right, Sony need to put things straight with gamers before even fanboys like me start thinking the worse.
Normal to happen when devs wrap up projects, but it's been a long time after KZ Mercenary....
It can also be a sign that Driveclub is really close to finish and they need less personnel.
But at the end of the day, I would rather this people employed and starting new games than Sony investing in R&D for a niche product (yes, the VR)
Nah, started with open areas and very slow pace then it became more linear and fast-paced towards the end. Nice formula imo. However, characters and storytelling in general were disappointing.
MP is a blast however.
Halo, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Gears of War from Black Tusk.
Will they be announcing something actually new?
Same with Sony,
The Order 1886, Driveclub, Uncharted,...?
I really don't want to troll, but, isn't any open world game full of side-mission, often very repetitive?
What is the importance of 4 extra ones? Can someone give an honest answer? I would be more satisfied if Sony were investing this money into the WW Studios..., but it might just be me.
Don't know about the price, but pre-orders bonus don't stay exclusive for too long.
About time! Now we can have both rentals and PS Plus for games that we want to play, but not so badly to make us buy the game.
Capping the framerate at 30fps should be an option for games that try 60fps but can't really sustain it.
I'm not talking about trading resolution for fps, just the option to put a lower limit to fps to avoid dips.
The judder on Tomb Raider is horrible for me. I have no problem with 30fps, but the dips annoy me as hell. Glad that Killzone put this option.
Image quality. 1080p + the shit of AA.
Capped at 30 fps.
Done.
The graphical fidelity is already amazing. Sure, there are some muddy textures, but they actually fit with the art design of the game, so it's fine.
The faces/expressions are incredible and avoid the "uncanny valley" by being (1) just a little caricatural and (2) "made by hand", not by motion capture
