EA has nothing to do with those games. They were published by Interplay, and publishing rights for Baldur's Gate are owned by Atari. Not sure about the other games but they are NOT owned by EA.
Bioware is only mentioned because they developed Baldur's Gate 1&2 and they are commonly, but wrongly, credited for developing Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale. In fact they were developed by Black Isle Studios on the Infinity Engine (which was developed by Bioware). <...
Hey friend, I think you got some facts wrong.
- Baldur's Gate 2 was developed by BioWare, not Obsidian.
- Neverwinter Nights 2 was developed by Obsidian, not BioWare.
- Karpyshyn didn't write for Neverwinter Nights 2 or any of the Dragon Age games.
Cheers!
" (...) browser based games such as Riot Games' huge hit, League of Legends (...) "
League of Legends is not browser based.
This article is a *bit* misleading.
A few misconceptions:
1st) When Ohlen said 500 words in 2025 he was joking. He was laughing he said that and it was just to illustrate that BioWare hopes the game stays up for a long time.
2nd) 500$ million? Really? This number was just made up. The highest rumoured value for total development cost was 300$ million by EALouse, and he wasn't event a BioWare employee.
This is pure speculation.
BioWare has 800 employees across four studios: Edmonton, Austin, Montreal, BioWare Mythic. Source: http://www.industrygamers.c...
SWTOR is being developed in Austin, and considering the huge game SWTOR is, i'd say more than 1/4 of the total employees is working there. Let's say 250.
Now, if you consider an average salary of $50k and t...

Homosexuality is not a mental illness. It is present in nature in many species.
Why should we care about gay relationships in a game which ALSO contains straight ones? We can play the ENTIRE game without ever facing a homosexual relationship.
Seriously, why is this an issue?
What a joke.
For those wondering, the quote "confirmed BioWare employee" was the inital version of the article.
When i commented on the site asking for a source on that, the author of the article, Dardin Kay, deleted my comment with no explanation whatsoever. He changed the previous sentence to "un-confirmed BioWare employee" while keeping the same title. Good Journalism prevails.
Not defending anyone, but the article says it is a "confirmed BioWare employee" while stating no sources at all.
Seriously, does anyone have any kind of evidence this guy is from bioware? My guess is it is just a troll/fanboy and the headline of the 'article' is just bait for hits.
Correct.
I'm sorry, his what?
I love how he says Legion may or may not be returning for ME3 at 00:10 and near the end of the video, at 03:50, he says "...and this is some of the VO here that is the final processed version that we're using for ME3..." and immediately at 03:57 he realizes he shouldnt have said that. Hilarious facial expression.
I'm sorry, from where?
False.
It is not a rumour. It has been known for a long time they are working on a different sci-fi mmo, called Stellar Dawn.
BioWare released BG in 98 and BG2 in 2000. EA acquired BioWare in 2007.
Yes, extremely good actually. One of the best experiences in my gaming history. I can't think of any negative aspect about it. A definite must play!
As a side note, the new HD version is unfortunately not available for pc but you can get the normal version (still looks great) on GOG.com or Steam, enjoy!
He wasnt staff. He was a community mod. There is no official confirmation/denial about MP.
The Steam version has no DRM. Why dont you buy it there? Dont get me wrong, i hate DRM, but it seems you are just picking an excuse to pirate the game
Be aware that GOG.com recently added this game to its catalog!
Buy it here: http://www.gog.com/en/gamec...
