Not fake at all. Sony is playing hardball now! It is still all for naught though, they cant stop hacking/piracy through these means.
I just don't see this working out for Sony. Their attempts are now starting to reek of desperation more than ever before. They cant win this battle with lawsuits so they might as well stop wasting the money on legal fees.

The wii, DS, and 360 have all been hacked to allow piracy for years now and each of those consoles sell more games than the PS3 does. None of those have had an increase in game prices or any thing ludicrous that you seem to think will happen. And in the off chance that this hack kills off the PS3 (it wont), that still wouldnt cause the industry to crash.

Oh please. We have been begging Sony for Cross Game Chat for years. If they wanted to do it, they could have done it long ago. Security has nothing to do with anything because companys have the abilty to multitask. It is entirely possible for sony to deal with their hacker problems and release cross game chat at the same time.

@Reddevils I dont think so. The games for kinect suck because Microsoft deliberately targeted the casual audience in attempt to bite into the wiis market share. Regardless of the advertising budget the games would still be the same.
