Wow, I never heard that Swiss cheese analogy before, but damn that makes sense. I also think he's right that it'd be incredible to rebuild the whole network in two weeks. I'm going to go with him that it's some band aids, or an extraordinary amount of man hours, crammed in a small time frame.
Absolute awesomeness, totally worth the wait. I just wish the level editor would run on my laptop, I have so many great ideas!!
Wow, the only one in the top 10 I'd buy is Peace Walker... but I have no PSP
Gotta have a lot of ass to match the list, right?
Another thing! PC vs Console - PSN goes down, all PS3 online play is screwed. On PC, if a server or network goes down, online gaming for that particular game or service is down, but hell you can always jump on a number of other things, or do direct connect, or find an alternate server, or play a different game... or... whatever. I love console gaming for the ease and simplicity, but it also places you at the mercy of the platform owner.
I frankly don't understand why we don't have keyboard/mouse support for all games - it should just be a firmware update with a mini menu in the accessory settings allowing you to bind keys to the keyboard/mouse buttons. I have a keyboard hooked up to my PS3 almost all the time just to send messages back and forth any way.
For the hardcore PC modders, PC gaming will always be better. Even if we see modding make its way to consoles, we'll still be limited by what th...
It'll just be nice to have it back. Rough calculations indicate that at this point, Sony only owes PS+ users about $0.65 each... a mini would cover that easily.
On another note, I hope it comes back cause Outland looks cool, I wanna check it out.
It's made to run on one platform - one set of code, focused resources, usually means a cleaner running game.
I keep seeing this on my friend's list, I must say I'm jealous. I'm on the fence with buying this right now though, I really don't have the time, too many games already on my plate. Maybe I'd have the time if I quit my day job... :p
Looks good, I can't tell the difference, but then I'm not always too focused on graphics as long as they look good.
portal dlc? where? that's what I'll be busy with for a bit
well, I suppose I'll give it another shot.
Geez yeah, it's a hell of a week for video gaming. I need more vacation time. And time in general. And money.
I hope this game turns out well, been a while since I've had fun with a really good RTS game - primarily cause they're a major rarity on consoles.
I remember the Oddworld music quite clearly... perhaps because I was playing it just the other day, but man I love those games, the music and sound effects are great.
I agree that's usually the case, and I think a lot of it is that I've rarely, if ever, based a purchase on the music - but art style, plot, and gameplay figure heavily. Of course, if there's no music or terrible music, I play it and go "WTF?!"
looks like it'll have a decent length, something we need to see more in campaigns this day and age...
so sick of zombies though... it's beyond me how the rest of the world hasn't gotten "zombie fatigue" yet.
Ha, I wish I could argue with my bosses that I deserve another million dollars, and not only still have a job afterward, but have the distinct possibility of also getting what I want. The idea for me is completely absurd, but damn, I wish...
This is pretty much what I expected, good review! With certain other games releasing at the same time, I'm fine with passing this over, but may pick it up later down the line.
Well, that's certainly more detail than the BBFC gave. I like it, sounds gritty, sounds like they aren't holding back. This line of work is brutal, and it looks like they'll bring us an accurate depiction of that.
This wasn't on my radar before, but after reading that I may have to give this to go. I'm a big strategy fan, and I really haven't seen to many strategic games lately that interest me. Good review!
