Sony Playstation 4 and, microsoft Xbox one release November (2013) and Nintendo Wii U release late (2012) are 8th generation console and the 8th gen started in 2012 when the Wii U released. The PS4 won the 8th generation and, it will sell a 100 million units worldwide by December 31, 2018.
Nintendo switch is a 9th generation console hybrid/handheld. It's winning the 9th generation. Nintendo switch will be competing with Sony PlayStation 5 when it releases in 2020 or 2021.
