What are you talking about? Microsoft also had to pay this very same bill, and in case you didn't know, Microsoft owns a large number of shares from this company. In other words some of the money Sony paid goes to microsoft.
Anyways, back to topic. It's great that Sony settle this, since it will benefit both gamers and Sony as a company.

I for once would hate to play a game for 6 months before moving into another. There is only so much content due to the cost of making games that developer will start dragging... RPG games will spawn an ememy ever 5 seconds in order to create the ilution of longer gameplay, action games will make you go the entire level and then ask you to go the begining to rescue another character. Interesting... the other day I said that there is a possiblity this game may go online, which is why they released the PS3 version first, needed more time to impllement those features... and I got flamed + like 6 disagree + one of my bubbles. Now, look at what we are talking about today.

I think that's great, it's a great move towards cheaper blu-ray drives... but compared to the microsoft hd dvd drive (which you can use for the PC and the xbox 360) it may not sound that great. HD DVD is cheaper. If you are crazy interested in blu-ray you may want to save the extra $300 and buy a PS3, it has better value since it also pays games.

I know that many of you would love to see the xbox 360 out of the market and have Sony have a monopoly over the games we play. But it will not happen, not even the original xbox made it to that list.
By the way there are people today that love the dreamcast and even consider it to be a better console than the PS was. What kill the console was not the console itself but more Sega inability to keep up with the market and that's one weakness that Microsoft does not have. They sure...
