I'm all for challenge but the excessive trial and error of the older hitman games, as much as I cherished it then, make for way too much wasted time. As much as I'm sure I'd still enjoy that now, I don't have that kind of time as an adult now and can't justify putting that much of my time into repetition without getting some serious value out of it. Don't get me wrong, I want the game to be hard and I want my silent assassin runs to be challenging, but not unnecessaril...
This comment thread is full of so many absurd generalizations about what games "girls like" or "girls play" that it's lost my interest. People are different. You might be able to posit a general statement on what a majority of female gamers do or do not play but that involves research, research that none of us have done.
This is so much fail that it makes my weep for N4G. So much wasted potential.
@snookies12
A ten year-old with down syndrome, after a lobotomy, could write better than that.
The first two sentences of this were so goddamn atrocious that I had every reason to not read the rest of it--but I'm a nice guy, so I did.
That was the worst thing I've ever read. I say this as a friend: please stop writing.
I would almost feel bad, but the fact this even got approved is so disturbing to me.
Honestly I think the only thing Bethesda games could use is some sort of co-op but I do include the caveat that it shouldn't take anything away from what's already there. Seriously though, having a friend jump in my skyrim game with me would be the best thing to ever happen to gaming life--and worst thing to ever happen to my social life.
I'm not saying it would be easy or that I want/expect it anytime soon, but I would love that. You're absolutely right about...
It's always been that way man. Slow start, but once playstation gets momentum, it always has a greater diversity of games by genre and target audience than any other console. Always has, always will.
@LettingGo I wouldn't say simplistic so much as formulaic. Galaxy was a big step up, but still fell within the Mario formula for the most part. Great game though--just not great enough to get me to buy a wii or anything ha.
Haha...Wii.
There could never be another Halo game for the rest of time, and I wouldn't even blink. That franchise is so stale.
Does anyone else feel like the environments shown for Infinite so far all look THE SAME? I'm expecting to see more interior environments with some diversity for sure, but all the outside environments shown so far all look kind of the same. Hopefully those time-bending mechanics will mix up the environment a bit too.
I honestly couldn't care less--but if it does come out, I do want to try it. That said, I'd be shocked if it actually releases 2012. Too bad, but with Absolution, Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3 and GTAV on the way, I really don't care.
It CAN be for a good reason. Natural selection was doing just fine before we stepped. Sure, I see the point in keeping someone like Hawking alive, but that guy in Ohio ( http://articles.nydailynews... we shouldn't be prolonging the lives of people like that who consume, yet contribute nothing to society.
True, they were the the wealthy. Obese people only survive if the society caters to them or they're rich enough to force that to happen.
Oh god, I really hope it isn't. I loved how challenging those games were. I'm all for easy difficulty settings being there for the more casual experience and I will concede that the trial and error can at times get really tedious--but most of the time it was not only awesome, but such a unique and challenging experience that no other games even come close to.
Sure, it was a pain to sometimes spend way too long trying to figure out the perfect routine to do something (...
You're right. That's something I've heard for a while but it turns out to just be a very common misconception. Being a penal colony, it sure had it's history of crime but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.
I also didn't mean to offend you by saying "Australia needs to grow up" I hoped it would be clear I was referring to it's government figures, not it's people as a whole--but I seem to have struck a nerve.
I...
I love seeing someone else that celebrates the fast approaching death of those who slow progress with their ludicrous beliefs and meaningless traditions. I tip my hat to you good sir.
I disagree with most of what you said, but it was still relatively well-written. Also, the reason there are no fat people in Skyrim is probably because in older civilizations, fat people die. We only have fat people because we cater to their needs and prolong their lives.
Australia needs to grow up. They have one of the highest crime rates in the world and they're worried about videogames?
@Tesseract: I looove Louis CK but he never says anything about videogames..except a few bits where he uses them as examples of wastes of time..so yeah.
I've always struggled with turn based games too for similar reasons, but there's always been something about the esthetic of them that I appreciate. I like some of the more modern twists on it, with more dynamic or twitch based aspects to them like in the stick of truth though. Great review though!
