What WoshJills said. TECH DEMO, same with FFXIV and HSG5. Though that doesn't mean they couldn't implement it down the road. Fact-checking FTW.

They also got in trouble for linking people to Tubgirl (I think) on Kotaku during their HALO 3 matchup.

There's a fine line between griefing and being an ass, and I don't think Gizmodo quite knows where it is.

I don't know. I'm still waiting for the day when a good one comes along, myself. But then again, few characters/licenses lend themselves to gameplay like The Hulk does.

Crackdown, fun as it was, is a near rip of the whole Hulk concept. If that can do well, why not the big green guy?

How about that? A "gallery of failures" so to speak? DNF needs to include one helluva fantastic "Making Of" disc in the package. You could probably produce several feature-length documentaries for as long as it's development has gone on.

But really, once all is said and done and the game is on shelves, I'd love to hear more about what's gone on behind the scenes.

Some of those are third-person shooters!

Hah! Never considered the blank would be construed that way. Thanks for the kind comments, though!

Even with good sales, it has a long way to go. But I'm betting 2008 will be the year that Sony earns a lot more mindshare. Enough to propel it past the 360, perhaps.

riqued, I'm personally wondering what kind of contract EGM/1UP proper had with Capcom to obtain those images, though. Maybe we need to know more about what it means for something to be "exclusive," and I'm sure not every contract is exactly the same.

I think it goes without saying that the EGM staff had sole possession of the images at one point, but is it necessarily wrong to publish those images elsewhere if you're able to obtain them?

I'm not saying ...

The controls aren't really the issue. I can understand how frustrated some people were over the 180-degree turn maneuver, but I've played Wii games with similar (or worse) response levels. It's certainly not a problem exclusive to Lair.

Level/mission design was the real let down. Transitions between goals, cutting out of the action constantly to show cutscenes, tough-to-see enemies. It was just...janky, and the inability to cope with those problems only compounded the frustrat...

They are? Can you explain why most of these franchises have disappeared for ten years or more, then?

Absolutely. You hold it underhand like a ball, pull your arm back, and then swing forward.

You move the controller, though some of the more strategically placed buttons do allow you to select certain options like checking out the slickness of the lane or confirming your aim (and spin is put on the ball using L2/R2). Positioning your character and throwing are all carried out with motion controls, though.

I think what bugs me about Wii Bowling is that it's very easy to cheese your way to a high score. Flick your wrist in a certain way and you'll almost always get a strike. High Velocity makes you learn how to apply the right amount of pressure as you let go of the ball, which is just more rewarding once you get used to it.

Back in the days before motion controls, I'd agree, but they're the one thing that could actually make a bowling game *fun.* And honestly, you're paying as much for High Velocity as it'd probably cost to rent a pair of shoes at some bowling alleys these days.

No, it works very well. More natural. Then again, part of the appeal of bowling in Wii Sports might've been how easy it was to pull off spin. It takes a bit more practice to do so in High Velocity, just like it would with a real bowling ball.

So yeah, in terms of raw mechanics, it beats the pants off of using a Wiimote.

Check again. Ripten has it reviewed in a separate article. ;)
