Love this. I love discussing how games can be educational. Why are games not used more in schools? (Coming from a teacher)
There's no way you can leave The Witcher off a "great story" list. It literally blew my mind with the amount of amazing, deep, and meaningful side quests and secrets.
I think I would replace Batman too. I love the games and the end of Arkham City broke my heart (in a weird way) but it's not in the same league of storytelling. The Batman games rely on our prior knowledge of the comics and villans to make the story work, whereas HZD was a totally self-contai...
My no.1 requirement from a game is a good story. Great list. Would definitely have added Horizon Zero Dawn in there somewhere
They have acquired a patent to emulate previous gen games, and over 4000 PS4 titles are supposed to be compatible at launch. But the emulation will likely be through PS Now which is only in like 40% of regions
Disney and Final Fantasy = my dream combo. Love the worlds and love the detail in the "real" world areas - especially Notre Dame. Nice list
This was really informative, as someone who has never played any of the Xenoblade games but really enjoys JRPGs. Thank you!
I live just outside of Shanghai and have spoken to students about this. Really interesting article!
So true - backwards compatibility is something that is making me seriously consider switching to Xbox
Totally agree. I LOVED AC and Ezio's sequels, but after that it really got very stale.
Looks really cool. Love JRPG
Looks awesome
You asked some great questions
I love Tim Burton. I'll check it out.
Yeah. Life got in the way. And then COVID got in the way of my life. And now I have time to game. And I like writing about it. No law against it so.. You're more than welcome to GTFO if my tardiness offends you
@N4realGMRZ I'll forgive you because you clearly haven't read the article or any of the comments, but there's this thing called COVID that caused millions of job losses across the world, including mine.
If you think I Microsoft invented the virus in order to give gamers time to play Hellblade so that they would write about it as advertising for hellblade 2.. Well.. That's your opinion I guess.
Funny you should say that. I actually I mention Detroit: Become Human in the "garbage" article.
@morganfell So what? So what if a site wants to "spew" individual theories? So what if it doesn't meet your exacting standards? It's 2020. It's the internet. Both are DEFINED by individual thought and expression. There is no reason to take that out on the author - who, if you'd even bothered to read the article - provides some great tips.
Clearly you take issue with the running of these sites. You should send your grievances to them directly inste...
The only reason I have time to write now is because of COVID.
I don't mean to be snarky, but I assure you, there really was no alternate objective (besides needing an outlet), nor am I being paid by Microsoft or Ninja Theory (would be nice though).
I really do appreciate you reading the piece and commenting. Seriously, all I want is to game, and write about it. The timing is purely coincidental.
Oh my.. well.. my apologies. Apparently you are an expert on the subject and run the most professional site on the web. What was it called again?
Besides, it's not like the writer is throwing out praise for the game and breaking the website bro-code or whatever. It's Tips and Tricks. It's content. Or would you prefer they just ignore one of the biggest releases of the year because the site didn't like the game? Would that not be even more unprofessional?
Awesome series. This is a really clever way to market the game. Sucker Punch should be paying you
