I think the controversy lies in the fact that it DOES deserve an 8 at the very least.
7's are reserved for the most so-so games with nothing special.
Any games journalist in the entire world will tell you that spaceboy is right, as not a single game ever made doesn't have glitches, soft textures, frame dips or some small issue holding it back.

Fox, I think Qdog shut you down quite handily, and did so through the systematic listing of a fraction of what Zelda has to offer.
His brief, vivid description doesn't even scratch the surface of this game.
It's entertaining to see fanboys cling to the excellent Horizon in the face of the even more excellent Breath of the Wild.

Microsoft's exclusive game is down the shitter right now. Forza Horizon 2, 3, and Halo 5 MULTIPLAYER are the only things that have been praised with great acclaim this gen... Gears 3 was middling and same ol' same ol'...

The immersion, driving and visceral shooting in GTA IV were top knotch for me.

They basically took the defensive preparation phase of Rainbow Sox Siege and stretched it across an entire game of management, which looks pretty dope.
Won't play it, but it looks really cool.
Rainbow Six Siege is the best tactical/realistic multiplayer shooter on the market - bar none.

GTA 5 still does a billion more things that Horizon/Zelda smushed together could never dream of doing. The only thing that will out-do it is the next GTA. They are in a class of their own.
