I'd like to play as one of the other characters. That said, Bioware have been quite clear that ME3 is the end of SHEPARDS story arc, implying that more Mass Effect games could follow with different protagonists. Perhaps there could be a whole new Mass Effect game in which the protagonist is one of the other characters.
I'm torn on the indoctrination theory. On the one hand, I would like a proper "choice-driven" selection of endings that reflect MY story, but, on the other hand, if it turns out that Bioware purposefully left the ending out of the game with the intention of releasing it as DLC then, yes, that's a jerk move.

I think Vega was really stretching it, but there are some good likenesses there. Miranda and the Illusive Man were a bit of a cop out, though; they were modeled on their likenesses!
