They likely will unfortunately but it might take a bit longer. A decent proportion of PlayStation game sales are still physical and it's all I buy for my PS5. I think Sony still have a commitment to physical for the time being though, the new PS5 with optional drive is proof of that. However, when consoles are digital only, I'll stop buying them. No way I'm buying a digital only system.

People saying this is doom for Xbox, it's not. It's long been part of Microsoft's plan to control the industry, and the removal of physical media is key to that. They will stop producing hardware and become a publisher. They didn't buy up Bethesda/Zenimax and ABK just to bolster sales of their consoles. They know they can't compete with PlayStation in terms of hardware sales, and so they buy up the biggest developers in the industry in order to control the software side. ...

I absolutely love Death Stranding. It's such a laid back, relaxed experience that clicked with me almost right from the very beginning. I'm sure DS2 will do exactly the same.
