I have it on my new xps and I like it. On my older desktop, I don't like it that much, it needs more juice. So I boot desktop to xp.
If you have good hardware vista is nice (if you invest 2 hours into learning new features)
I hope that ps3 catches up to xbox360 by next holiday, that will result in some great games on both.

according to xbox forums (search for userid mrcur or keyword falcon):
1. elite lot 72800 and higher will have 65nm, hs and epoxy fix,
2. for all SKU's assembly lines switched to 65nm in July, so look for 7/07 manufacture date

That being said, I just came back from local BB and Fry's electronics.
BB has elite lot #72200 and Fry's is on 72500 and 72600, so they're getting there. As far as premiums, they're still from last year.

This is in line with existing company policy. They already make the "most secure" OS and sell antivirus, antispam, firewall, backup, anal intruder, etc...

Just got mine back from Tx repair shop. No heatsink. I did get new and stronger (louder?) fans.
How can you tell? You can take the gray side panel off very easy and take a look inside. Heatsink would be on that side. And no, that will not break the seal on the console.

Wish they recognized the 360 hardware issues earlier, but if they clean up nicely, market and consumers will forgive.
If they play straight from here there is no reason to be concerned.
Gaming market will only grow stronger from here, they just need to keep their end up and things will be fine.
I own all 3 consoles, and I hope to see a healthy market for everyone.

I'll be the one and only guy that purchased one. I hope it has the original release 360 components. I don't want that new heatsink either. And I'll pay the top $$$ for it.
Bill Gates will call me to be his guest of honor. He cares about me. After all, every time I sent out my 360 for the repair (3X now) I get the sorry letter. It is a great feeling every time.
I hate this new 3 year thing. I insist on paying for the repairs and shipping.

Less than two(2) weeks since my 360 arrived from TX repair shop, I had to call for the new repair. My drive won't read or recognize any media.

And according to the support lady:

There is a "special team" your box gets assigned to, if you had more than 2 repairs within 6 months. She was not willing to give out more detail. So that's all I know. And I wait...

I had several repair attempts done on my 360, I even purchased another box. I was hoping for a "better" box this time. It just added another thing that needed to be fixed.
I also own Wii and PS3.
Wii is currently on the UPS trip to the repair shop. My 360 just got back from the shop last Friday.
So I pretty much had enough of Peter Moore and his "focus on customer service" crap.
I'll give him another chance when I hear "focus on customer...
