The only engine I'm afraid of in fallout 4 is the Gamebyro ("Creation") engine.
Yeah what it did was really just add the finishing touch to what D3 should of been at launch. I mean it's great that they fixed it, but it's not something the industry should follow. Release a crappy product then two years later decide to finally fix it.
The player has hit detection and in the first few seconds of the video when the player uses a two-handed swords the skeletons do react to the sheer force of that weapon. Daggers, not so much but that kinda makes sense, regardless doubt i'll be using daggers anyway.
Bound by flame is more similar to The Witcher series. The closest thing to Dark Souls is actually Lords of the Fallen. But I don't want any rpg to ever completely render another rpg useless. They should steadily continue to one up each other instead, rpgs aren't massed produced like fps games.
Another one of my favourite genre's is fantasy rpg's. I guess you would call it Western Fantasy Rpg's to be precise. This year we have two great games coming out Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition. I have the same belief in this genre as I do with the Post Apoc genre, although I think that's purely based on my opinions.
Anything grounded in reality than morphed into something "fantastical" proves to be appealing to me. I can suspend my disbelief, ...
Mad max came out in 1979, Fallout 1 1997. He is talking about the film influencing post apocalyptic games. What he says is true, look at the leather armor in the fallout series and the raiders in fallout, especially fallout 3 and new Vegas. Oh yeah, also look at Dogmeat then look at Max's dog. It's practically ripped right from the movie. The design of Megaton as well, very similar to Thunderdome, all the makeshift buildings etc. The list goes on and on.
Without Mad M...
I could do with more realism in future games. Give me a game where grass isn't on a 2d pane and is actually 3d, where trees have a root system and don't look like they've been glued onto the surface, then blow the place up.
The Post apocalyptic genre, is my favorite genre because it's roots are based on reality. Technically, it is a fantasy setting as well, since we have never experienced "the end of the world". It's a sick imagination of a "...
Excellent another top down survival game, loving this year, looks like another interesting year.
