If you choose your games wisely yes... I don't understand why every dev thinks that there game is worth 60 bucks. I would have tried out so many more games (mediocre) at $30 but they insist on suicide and sell it at a AAA game full price.

if this was last gen I would agree that Japan is a heavy weight when it comes to game dev. But since it's not last gen I have to disagree. Well IMO if devs stand up and just go exclusive to ps3, what if counter strike was exclusive to ps3? That would be the start of something. Last I remember I think what killed the dreamcast was when EA stopped support and madden was huge back then.

What If they didn't buy the game? What if someone let them borrow it or got lucky at a store that isn't strict.
If they looked into the security of the system I think they would have a clear understanding of what they don't want their kid to play, in turn they will know exactly what the ratings mean if the simple ratings do confuse them.

I disagree.. I think a lot more parents are aware of the ratings than you think. I think What parents don't know about is the security all 3 systems have though.
