Not to mention the console has no brand presence in Japan. Japan simply doesn't like the Xbox. Although that is changing a bit.

To be fair, Sony too has a part to play in this. They should've done all that is possible to get JRPG devs onbaord. They have an obvious install base advantage, so why haven't they been able to get anyone onbaord.
That points to some incompetency on their part.
I think it was even more stupid to put JRPG's (which historicly gain 50+% of their sales in Japan) on the Xbox 360 exclusively. Especially since the system barely hit 700K by then.
It does unfortunately. I really think JRPG's could use the extra Blu-Ray space.
