It doesn't really matter what he bought. You could say he was smart for buying the console with more reliable hardware.
1 and 2 are the better of the three. The only thing I think he'll be playing is a little game they call "balls on chin". Or "grab your ankles".

I played it about the same amount of time. I was pissed I payed $60 for it and traded it in towards... something... I can't remember what. But the point is the game was nowhere near as good as it should have been because of the fact that it was multiplat. If it were only on one system or the other they would have been able to make it twice as good considering they had to build the game from the ground up on two different systems. Oh well, maybe the new PS3 exclusive from rockstar will be the ...

IMO Halo 3 was "average".
I liked Resistance better than Halo 3, so IMO Resistance was a little above average.
Halo 3 with Bungie was an automatic fail when it ended up being a little better than it's predecessor, and please don't bring up the argument of how good it sold. Just because lots of sheeple buy a game doesn't mean it's good. Look at GTA4. Hell I wouldn't mind if someone else made the next one, who knows maybe they'll have some kind of INNOVATION that will make it more than an average game.
Fallout 3 is at the very top of my list above LBP even.
