Your wonder shows that you are just as ignorant as many others and you just want to act like a pro.
I used to hype for having a PC that can play all games on max settings. But after i had one, i found that it cannot bring the kind of feeling that i had had on a console. And now, the only game that i have spent most of the time on it is DOTA 2.
Here's some of my Crysis 3 on max settings - 1080p.

It must be they are totally speechless and ignorant with all the information Cerny has provided :).
You have forgotten the compression and decompression parts.
In addition, they will limit the maximum time for recording a gameplay footage. Perhaps, no more than 30 minutes. And thus, it will only take up about 500MB for max of the RAM.
What the hell is high end PC anyway?
Is your "high end PC" able to run Avatar-like graphic in real-time with 30fps and on 720p?
In short, looking at fps and resolution is just simply nonsense!
I'm sure that some PC guys will say this kind of graphic is what they are experiencing on their PC =)).
