Current Gen games includes a good amount of last Gen Remasters. So you don't have to rely on your last gen consoles to play them... as long as you can pay for them again. If this trend continues PS4 might end up with... whats that number that gets thrown around... oh.. 50% more Remasters.
BC is for those like myself. I can visit old titles I missed out on like Mass effect 1. 2. 3. Then continue on with 4 on current gen all why keeping my 360 in another room.

I don't know how to feel about this, just recently I was at a friend house playing MCC Halo 1 Split screen, but that not something that happens often. Options are nice and all but if I it's something I barely use ... Meh.. I say try it 343i If we don't like patch it if possible and bring it back in Halo 6 there you have it. Problem solved.

Ok this article failed to mention the 10yrs contract bungie has with MS which makes the core argument a moot one. 343i has made one of the best halo with part 4. Glad to see them expand on the story & characters. I joined the Halo5 Beta & like the direction of the new mechanics. Can't wait to play war zone.
Backward Compatibility for Xbox on the next gen system. Makes sense if you're thinking longevity.
In Reality lets look at MS hardware. Who's really buying them? They have a bad record with anything hardware.. we should be used to MS flapping itself over.
Its not console its not PC like Kneon said proprietary APIs from AMD & Nvidia. They need an Unified API for all 3 or at least 2. If Direct X 12 allows the GPU brands to mix... it's not far fetch that this could be beginning or a way towards a unified API.

It works great on 2.4ghz my example above was when I was testing the limit outside my house. The lose of quality happens when I'm far from the router. I have pretty good range.
I use this feature daily. Quality time on the throne change for the better . I'm using a Netgear Night Hawk router with my laptop on the 5ghz channel. Flawless streaming no lag input. Even when the quality is low on 2.4ghz because I'm far away from the router the input remains solid and lag free. For me the feature means no more brutal violent scene on the big screen where the kids play during the day.

I believe Devs and others alike rinse and repeat this to lower our expectations in-case there is any backlash when games still perform at 900p while performing 1080p on other consoles.
