Did anyone really think that it’ll surpass god of war records? I mean just look at the view counts in youtube for both games and you’ll see the difference in popularity. As much as i love gears, these developers need to step up their game and return to what made gears great in the first place.
The multiplayer is broken as fuck, and og gears players will leave it in two months if they dont fix the hit box and the ridiculous op lancer and mace + everyone is complaining about the tour of duty and the store. This game will be dead in two months.
Why the fuck does replay value matter? Metal gear, god of war, shenmue, crash, the witcher, gta sa, final fantasy etc, these are some of the greatest games in history, and once you finish the story and side missions its done...

I now believe that of you want to impress xbox fans, you just need to include 4k 60fps, teraflops and polygon count. No artistic style, setting, or attention to detail needed. Such low standards to be honest.

I love gears pf war to death, gears 1 back in 2006 was probably my best multiplayer experience to this date, and i still play gears ultimate edition. Im not a fan, and if i was a fanboy i would be defending gears.

A lot of fans hate it too including myself. I only care about the multiplayer and it is garbage. Lancers are op, breaker mace can fuck your whole team from a mile, hit box is horrible and way too oversized. Its a mess and IGN gave it a 9, fucking casuals ruining gears and turning it into fortnite. and i agree with every statement. Sadly, xbox gamers have such low standards these days.

The gameplay in general is floaty and guns dont have weight to them. The cover system is horrible with the fast transition between covers and inhuman movement speed, it feels like fortnite compared to gears 2 or 3. I feel like sometimes these developers forget that these are 220lb dudes with huge armors and chainsaws.
Other issues with the multiplayer excluding core gameplay are op lancer, too many explosives, the range of breaker mace is ridiculous, and it just feels arcad...
strongly agree on campaign mode, they made it a lot better.
Strongly disagree on multiplayer mode, they made it worse than gears 4 which was already bad compared to previous titles excluding judgment.

It makes sense when a first party AAA game is filled with MT and cutting on content. I rather spend 60$ on a full game like god of war than spend a 1$ on a gears game filled with microtransactions and bullshit progression system. No thanks.
