Ignore the negative comments made by people who don't even play Dynasty Warriors - makes me wonder why they bother clicking on a link to do with it...
DW7 was brilliant. The story was the best it's ever been, with attention to following the source text and continuing the story through to the fourth Kingdom's rise (Jin). The cutscenes are well done, and there's a lot of characters and move sets. It's still not as challenging as DW3 was and there's a lack of extr...

Holding strong opinions makes me sound like someone with no opinions of his own? not quite sure how that works.
DMC2 was the worst of the series by a long way. I felt that when it came out, I still feel that way now. I don't need someone to tell me that, but the article writer clearly hasn't figured that out on his own.

Remember the original Devil May Cry, that perfect concoction of horror, suspense and thrillingly stylistic combat? No - I remember a game with good combat, a rubbish story and really bad voice acting.
Remember the more action-based second, the lackluster third and the reasonable fourth? No. I remember a terrible second, a perfect third and a tired fourth.
Seriously if you don't think DMC2 was rubbish and DMC3 was the pinnacle of the series, I think you don't understand...

What a rubbish list. DMC before God of War. Grand Prix before Gran Turismo. Doom before Halo. Resident Evil before Silent Hill. That's how it should be.
How old is the writer?

I would have thought the answer to this is obvious. Because women don't make up the majority of any army, mercenary or pirate force in the world. Those are the enemies in most games, so naturally women don't number among them.

While I agree that the way they killed Gat was stupid, most of the changes in the game are justified by story. Gangsters don't stay gangsters if they own the whole city. They could've knocked you down to square one again, but that would've been the same old shit one more time. SR2 had already started moving away from the gangster feel of SR1 anyone, it's been a gradual process - there is no 'forgetting its roots' bullshit, it's just progress. I didn't like SR3 ...

But the player is Never involved during HL2 style cutscenes. Sure you can move around, but you're not interacting with everyone else. And again cutscenes require tons of work and resources - HL2 requires nothing apart from the VO - most of the time they don't even move around, but just stand rooted.
Being able to crouch, or punch or run around during a dramatic moment breaks immersion far more than taking away control ever does.

It's hard to argue or disagree with that surely. MGS4 had a 90minute cutscene! Xenosaga1 also did it wrong. But that's not to say cutscenes are bad.
Levine should play Vagrant Story and then tell us that it would have looked better without its cutscenes.

Ingame scenes like HL2 are lazy and boring. There is not cineamtic direction, there's no well timed music and quite often from the first-person angle, you don't have the best angle to see something happen.
They also mean your player character will never, never be able to appear like a cool well formed character. Mass Effect handles story scenes and conversations much better than Skyrim because it takes control of the camera.
As another example Assassin's Creed 2&#...

He didn't bash FF8, just Irvine. And I agree, he is useless. His personality is terrible and confused and he's a dolled up wannabe cowboy (nothing against cowboys, but they should be rugged, not wear earrings and have fringes)

Jennifer Hale IS the role. She pretty much made Shepard from the 1st game when there was no game to play. Why should she need to then go back and play that to know the role for a sequel?

Valve want a cut from DLC sold in games on Steam - that's basically what it comes down to. EA is not the bad guy here. They didn't pull their games from anywhere except Steam because Steam had an issue with DLC revenue going elsewhere without being able to take their cut. Origin is needed because no one else is big enough to give Steam competition on that front.
Oh yeah and @inside_out - let's see Activision Blizzard help games like Shadows of the Damned and Alice get re...

The multiplatform mention didn't really sound like an excuse - just another reason why COD's reach is longer. ND in no why tried to downplay COD or BF's successes. Stop making up your own subtext.

Grasshopper? Very well known? Are you kidding me? Shadows of the Damned was a big risk and it didn't fully pay off - but that's the point of EAPartners. EA provide the publisher duties without impacting development. Alice was also a complete unknown to console gamers.
"..must be that innovative EA influence. :/ "
EA don't tell Bioware what to do - unless you have hard facts to back that up I suggest you keep groundless opinions to yourself.

Funny article. They missed Sev from Killzone who looks a lot like SOAP and Turok. Cole from Infamous too. Gerenic characters all round :D
Oh and the Male Shepard is based on a human as well - same way as Starkiller. Doesn't make him any more original though.

I actually prefer DCUO to a lot of other MMO's and it works fine on PS3.

It might be hitting a peak - but that's no reason to switch over now. There should be a good few years left in both PS3 and X360.

Ubisoft are always crying. They barely make any good games anymore (have 2-3 decent franchises) and just bitch. Get on with it for f's sake.
If Battlefield 3, Rage, UC3, Gears3 can all be done to such a high level of graphics and gameplay - Ubi have no excuse except shit devs.

This article makes the one point I've been thinking for the past few days - why does Tecmo Koei even give these guys review copies? If they're not going to even give it a chance the pay off in publicity is not worth it. Sites like Eurogamer and Destructoid do a good enough job of keeping the public aware.

I love the way everyone thinks they know exactly what an RPG is! It's an outdated term that doesn't really apply to what we play anymore. D&D was first labelled as a role-playing game to deferentiate it to board-games and card-games ect. It doesn't work in a video game sense. Everyone's definition has at least one flaw when you consider all the games that carry the label of RPG. FF7, Baldur's Gate (PC), Oblivion, Eye of the Beholder - all RPG's but all completely d...
