The TFLOPS measurement alone isn't really a good representation of the final potential of PS5 and how they are handling data throughput. The huge amount of data they are able to stream and how fast it gets there also gives a massive boost to end performance.
Man it will be fun to watch this Gen come to fruition. I am excited for both systems and future PC hardware. Everyone stay home and be smart. Lets get this damn virus dealt with so we can stop any further delays!
Well interesting to bring this up now post Sony discussion. Still your adding the ray tracing together with previous GPU figures to give us a huge Tflopy #. It is just a measurement in spec numbers in the end. I am not knocking its potential, but I would like to know more specifics on Series X now. Give me a presentation similar to what Sony did Xbox.

Did you watch any of the Deep Dive? Way more? No. The custom handling of data streamed through the process could give a huge bump in performance. They both look powerful over current gen. Let's see what we can do with them.

Well that really depends on who is at the helm.
I don't believe this headline reflects the console generations outside the current though. I believe it would be very unwise for Sony to postpone revealing PS5 and try to hold on to the current generation just because it did so well. Xbox has been working out and is ready for some good rounds in the ring. That is, if the boxing club is open.

Sony's new Audio tech is fully proprietary, it will be tied to their first party games. The only option I see is for it to take the audio signal from a typical source, stereo, encoded or a surround signal and do a virtualization to their output. I do not like the sound of virtual surround and DSP to get multichannel or object based audio. Discreet multichannel is so much better. I hope it works for them, but it is very ambitious.
