Infinity already made a killing from the gamer market on MW2 from the sucker fanbase. They know now the game is a buggy piece of crap but couldn't care less, they're rich.
BC2 come along to pick up the market with a much better game, but they won't have the instant success cash in of COD4 as a precursor.

For my money, BC2 is the sleeper hit in the FPS genre for 2010 and quite possibly FPS GOTY already.

I was a fairly strong supporter of Modern Warfare 2 when it came out but the glitches, bugs, server lag put me off.
Once the BC2 Demo came out for the 360, I haven't loaded MW2 since.
Two completely different games I can appreciate, but DICE have promoted BC2 on the premise they want domination back in the genre and judging by the demo alone, I think they have it.

Whilst WoW rakes in a massive revenue monthly it has to be said that the game itself is quite stale and boring. I know they're looking to update it with this release, but the fact is the game balance itself is badly askew (especially in PvP) and this has lead many a gamer to hang up the boots in frustration and walk away.

Whilst it won't generate the sales it deserves, I don't doubt BC2 will be the new benchmark (especially for console owners) of online FPS.
MW2 might be cashing in on the success of COD4 with it's sales, but it's BC2 that will set the standard for quality FPS for the next year at least I think.

Between glitches, server crashes, laggy gameplay and severe weapon inbalance - none of which they fix, I'm burned enough that I'll skip the DLC completely on my 360 and most likely wait until I read positive reviews for MW3 before they see a dime of my money again!

The Xbox 360 version of the game has some severe limitations and shortcomings which are slowly but surely breaking the gameplay and turning away even the most hardened gamers from this title.

Modern Warfare 2 is extremely over rated if you scratch the surface and get past the wow factor.
The single player story is a disjointed mess with loosely connected scenes that you can complete in under 5 hours. Visually it's beautiful, but so was Dragon's Lair in it's day and yet it's gameplay was terrible.
